  • Provides laboratory testing for groundwater monitoring for the Kitsap County Department of Public Works. In addition to conventional water quality parameters, volatile organics, and metals, this project has specialized low level analytical requirements to measure vinyl chloride at 0.02 ppb and arsenic at 0.05 ppb. 2000 – present
  • Provides laboratory analysis for the Bremerton – Kitsap Department of Health for contaminated site investigation. The nature of the sites ranges from presently occupied industrial facilities to abandoned industrial and waste disposal facilities. Surface water, groundwater, and soils testing is done is for fuels, volatile and semi-volatile organics, and heavy metals. 1999 - present
  • Aquatic Research provides laboratory support for fisheries protection and enhancement programs managed by various Indian Tribes. These include the Klamath Tribe in Oregon, the Karuk and Yurok Tribes in California, the Kootenai tribe in Idaho, and the Muckleshoot and Yakima Tribes in Washington. Many of these programs are tied to the enhancement and restoration of habitat for endangered species. 1991 – present
  • Provides contract laboratory services to Port of Seattle Environmental Management for storm-event and quarterly outfall monitoring at SeaTac Airport. Services include:
    • Glycols analysis by GC-FID for the Glycols Test Recovery Program
    • Biochemical oxygen demand studies on de-icing chemicals
    • Short holding-time bacterial and surfactant analyses on composite water samples
    • Low-level priority pollutant metals
    • TPH
    • FOG and other analyses as needed.

Under a separate contract similar services are provided to the Industrial Waste Treatment Plant at SeaTac Airport. Both of these contracts provide NPDES compliance data as well as support for research projects designed to minimize the environmental impact of the airport on surrounding streams and wetlands. 1996 – present

  • Provides contract laboratory services for the Seattle Water Department in support of maintaining and enhancing the quality of drinking water and compliance with required permits. Aquatic Research has provided extensive support for projects designed to gain a better understanding of the nutrient and algal growth dynamics in the reservoirs. By minimizing algae growth, a reduction in the generation of disinfection by-products and improvement of taste can be achieved. 1990 - present
  • Provides contract laboratory and consulting services for Thurston County Health Department in support of surface water, groundwater, and drinking water monitoring programs. Performed a study using dye tracers coupled with conventional water quality parameters to better assess septic tank failure and its impact on receiving waters. 1988 - present
